We Have a Pollinator Garden!
This week, ECC and Kindergarten students planted a pollinator garden outside Advent!
Over the summer, the School worked with local landscape architect Rebecca McKevitz to reimagine the front garden spaces. McKevitz recommended the school plant pollinator garden for the first phase of the project. Erin Webb, Director of Development, visited classrooms to share the importance of pollination and pollinators' role in our daily lives. ECC and K students learn more about pollinators and plants alongside the monarch butterfly study.
On Tuesday, the ECC and K students worked together to plant a variety of pollinator plants. These students will care for the new garden over the year, including watering the plants and adding signs to help the community identify the plants and their purpose.Students brainstormed ideas for garden signs, which included "respect our garden," "water the plants," and "flowers for our monarch butterflies."
The pollinator garden was funded by a generous gift from the Class of 2021. Be sure to check it out the next time you are on Brimmer Street!
