Everyone is welcome!

There are various ways for you to engage with fellow Advent community members. Your participation in the life of the School enhances the well-being of the whole community.

Advent strives to be flexible and adaptable, responding to the priorities and values of our diverse families while embracing our traditions. We invite you to engage at your own pace and how your schedule allows. Below are some of our annual events.

Family Visit Day allows parents/caregivers and children to see their new classrooms and meet their teachers before the first day of school.

Begin the year together at the Head's Fall Welcome! You'll hear Nicole A. DuFauchard P'20 remarks and meet fellow parents/caregivers and faculty at this adults-only event held the second week of school.

Education Night
invites parents/caregivers into the classroom to meet their child/ren's teachers. Together, you'll learn about the curriculum and social-emotional learning development. Education Night is a time to experience learning at Advent, and we recommend that all parents/caregivers attend. This event is held the last week of September.

The Fall Benefit is a night in celebration of Advent! This event is held at different venues around Boston and is an opportunity for the adult community to gather, celebrate the school, and enjoy live music, food, and more.

Alum families, faculty members, and current families celebrate the School’s 60th anniversary at the 60th Gala, which was held in May 2022 at Artists for Humanity.

Held twice a year, Conferences are dedicated times that parents/caregivers connect for an in-depth discussion of how their child is doing academically and socially. Progress Reports are published before Conferences so families can digest the report and bring any questions to their conference.

Piazza Events
are held at different times throughout the year and include coffee hosted by different departments at the School. They also include parent/caregiver education topics, such as Anxiety 101 with School Counselor Nick Packard, All about the Atelier with Ms. Vicky, and Department of Teaching & Learning presentations about Advent's literacy, social justice, and math curricula.
