Advent’s Mock Caldecott Medal

It’s an exciting time in the Advent Library! This week library classes submitted the first round of ballots for Advent’s Mock Caldecott Medal.

Before winter break, students began their study of book awards starting with the Caldecott Medal. Classes discussed why some books receive this special title and read books that had previously won this distinguished award. Students continue to have rich conversations about the winner’s stories and thoughtful observations about the illustrations.

Over the next week, students will use this information to carefully consider each of this year’s contenders.
