Engineering in the Atelier

Kindergarten students tackle design and engineering challenges in Advent's Atelier. They begin each challenge by considering the questions "What is the problem?" "Who is it for?" and "Why is it important?"

For example, in the bear challenge, students recognized that building a bridge was important so that the bears could be together.

In addition to being fun, the challenges help build collaboration and problem solving skills. They also teach kids that it is OK if their early attempts don’t work. Mistakes are great opportunities to learn and improve upon their designs!
