Community Share is back!

This week we welcomed back one of our favorite Advent traditions, Community Share!

Community Share is a time to gather as a wider school community and learn more about different grade levels and individual students. In the past, we have had both students and faculty share things happening in their classroom and hobbies or interests they have outside of school.

Mr. Wormwood welcomes pre-K, Kindergarten, Third Grade, and Sixth Grade students to Community Share.

Students attended yesterday's Community Share with their buddy classrooms. Buddies are another one of Advent's most beloved traditions. Two grade levels are paired together, and these classes meet at various times throughout the year. Being able to connect in person with our buddies was so special. Buddy pairs got the chance to answer questions submitted ahead of time by students. Questions included, "What's your favorite part about the recess yard?" and "What is your favorite thing to learn about in school?"

Ms. Rose, Advent's Operations Coordinator, also joined us to talk about composting at Advent. Ms, Rose helped us review the three Cs of composting: Who, What, and When. We encourage Advent students, faculty, and staff to practice sustainable habits in school and home. Thank you to our community partners, Bootstrap Compost and Earthworm Recycling, for helping us in these efforts!

Community Share traditions include Sixth Graders lighting a candle to begin the gathering, Ms. Fiarman leading the group in singing the school song, and Ms. Boyette closing with a short meditation. See you at the next Community Share!
