Elementary STEM Teacher

The Advent School seeks a passionate educator who brings intelligence, creativity, scientific knowledge, and progressive teaching pedagogy to the school community.

STEM teachers at Advent teach in both the science lab and within an integrated framework, collaborating with the classroom teachers and other Specialists. Lessons are designed specifically to promote collaborative problem-solving and student-directed hands-on project work.

Responsibilities & Duties

Teachers at The Advent School know their students well and use this knowledge to design and facilitate a student-centered curriculum that combines academic and social-emotional learning. The Advent School’s program promotes progressive, hands-on, project-based teaching that interweaves the arts, academic skills, and social justice themes. STEM teachers design their curricula by interweaving Next Generation Science Standards with grade-level themes and contemporary world issues.
