Online Application & Application Process

STEP 1: Apply Online

In addition to compleiting the online applicatoin, the following items are due January 15, 2020 for September 2020 enrollment:

  • The application fee is $50 per application. Please note that we do not accept online payments. Please make checks payable to to “The Advent School” and mail them to: The Advent School, Attn: Office of Admission, 15 Brimmer Street, Boston, MA 02108
  • The Teacher Recommendation Form is available online through your Ravenna account. You will be prompted to input an email address for your child’s teacher.
  • Report cards or progress notes can be uploaded directly to Ravenna by your child’s current school.

STEP 2: Schedule a Family Visit and Tour

  • We encourage families to schedule a visit and meeting through Ravenna. Families may also contact the Admission Office by phone or email at admission@adventschool.org to schedule an appointment. During the visit, ​we will meet to​ ​share information about your child as a learner, and discuss your questions about our program.
    • The visit takes place at our 15 Brimmer Street location. ​
    • While all are welcome, this meeting is intended for parents and guardians.

STEP 3: Attend a Student Classroom Visit

Upon receipt of your application, we will contact you to schedule a mutually convenient classroom visit. All classroom visits should be completed by February 2020.

ECC and Kindergarten applicants visit twice: for an individual play-based assessment (30 minutes) and for a classroom visit on Saturday, January 25, 2020 (1 hour). First and Second Grade applicants visit for half a day (8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) and Third through Sixth Grade applicants visit for the whole school day (8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.).

Optional Step 4: Complete Financial Aid Application

Advent requires the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) submitted online to the School and Student Services at www.solutionsbysss.com. To ensure Advent receives a report, include our school code: 1123. Additionally, please send copies of most your recent Federal Income Tax Returns, year-end pay stubs, and 1099/W2s to: The Advent School, Attn: Office of Admission, 15 Brimmer St., Boston, MA 02108. Financial Assistance applications and all supporting documents are due by Monday, February 10, 2020.

Admission Decisions

Admission decisions will be made pending available enrollment within the applicant’s grade. Decisions will be mailed home once all requirements are completed and reviewed, on a rolling basis. Families will be notified of their child’s admission decision via Ravenna on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. Decision letters are mailed then as well.
