04 Feb Introducing the 2019 Speaker Series
The Advent School is pleased to announce a new series of events for educators, the 2019 Speaker Series. The series, which begins on February 26, invites you to our campus to engage in dialogue about social justice teaching, Reggio-inspiration, and progressive education.
Advent’s Head of School Nicole A. DuFauchard will host a Saturday Seminar titled, “Courageous Conversations with Children,” and Advent faculty will gather for evening presentations on a variety of topics. Each of the Saturday Seminars and the Evening Presentations are free and open to the public.
2019’s Keynote Speaker is Dr. Robin DiAngelo, author of the New York Times best-selling book White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk about Racism. Dr. DiAngelo will be speaking with Jack Hill, nationally recognized diversity consultant, facilitator, educator, writer, child advocate, and the current Head of the Middle School at Cambridge Friends School. This event is currently full. If space becomes available, it will be posted on our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts.
We hope that you will join us at one of these events! Please contact Amber Lowe, Special Projects Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
