06 Dec Celebrate Founder’s Day on December 6
The Advent School is proud to celebrate Founder’s Day today, December 6, which is Mona C. Hull’s birthday. As Advent’s first director, Mona collaborated with a group of parishioners from the Church of the Advent in 1961 to found The Advent School.
Their founding vision, as stated in an admission brochure from 1961, was to create a school:
“… concerned with the development of the whole child and will offer a program to promote the intellectual, physical, cultural, artistic, and religious development of students with individual attention given to each child’s needs and abilities. The program will meet high scholastic standards and include […] regular trips to the cultural centers of Boston.”
The Advent School has educated the whole child in a rigorous, supportive, and authentic academic environment for 56 years. Today we honor Mona’s vision of a school that has served so many families to this day.
Please join Advent community members in celebrating Mona’s legacy and the work of our faculty and students over the past five decades by making an Annual Fund donation. Through this donation, we invite you to honor one of your teachers – past or present – who has made an impact on you.
Thank you for supporting the mission and vision that began 56 years ago. With your support, Advent will continue to inspire children to learn with passion, act with courage, and change the world.
