Community Engagement Manager
The Advent community is committed to building an environment that fosters learning and interpersonal connectivity. Our energetic and inclusive community is always evolving, and we encourage parents to engage with the School as their schedule permits.
Parent engagement is a large reason why the Advent community is so vibrant, and the School offers several opportunities for parents to volunteer. If you have any questions about volunteering or potential volunteer opportunities to share, please contact Lauren Leary, Community Engagement Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (617) 742-0520 x 32.
The Advent School communicates with parents through several avenues. Our weekly newsletter @Advent, regular email and telephone communications, parent teacher conferences, and school events, help parents become more engaged with the School, and support their child’s learning throughout the year.
The Parents Association (PA) offers parents the opportunity to engage regularly through events and meetings with other parent volunteers. All Advent parents are members of the PA, and are encouraged to reach out to the PA co-chairs at PA@adventschool.org for possible PA volunteer opportunities.
Class Parents are experts in acting as liaisons between the classroom teachers and parents of their classroom. We have multiple parent representatives per grade, and they communicate in-class events, field trips, and other class-specific information to the parents in their class.
Our online community provides a view into the day-to-day of Advent life, as well as highlights from the year’s events. Be sure to follow our social media pages to stay informed, view images, read blog posts, and connect with Advent friends and community partners.

The Advent community volunteers with several organizations outside of the School. If you are interested in a particular non-profit and believe that there may be opportunities for Advent families to volunteer, please contact Lauren Leary, Community Engagement Manager.
The Advent School has many partnerships with Boston organizations. If you have questions about how to become involved with any of these partners or ideas about other potential partners, please contact Lauren Leary, Community Engagement Manager.
