Apply to Advent

Online Application & Application Process

Step 1: Inquire Online

Please complete the online inquiry form, powered by Ravenna. By completing this form, you are requesting additional information from the Advent Admission Office, and will be added to the mailing list of prospective applicants for the academic year indicated. Nora Goddard, Director of Admission & Next Schools, will follow up to introduce herself to you and to share additional materials with you about The Advent School.

Step 2: Schedule a Parent Appointment & Tour

A parent appointment with our Director of Admission provides an opportunity to ask your questions about our program and share information about your child as a learner. Parents are also welcome to tour classrooms to see our School in action. Please contact Nora Goddard, Director of Admission & Next Schools, at (617) 742-0520 × 15 or via email to schedule an appointment.

See Admission Events & Important Dates for additional opportunities to visit Advent.

Step 3: Apply

When you arrive at the page you will be asked to create an account, at which point you will be able to look up The Advent School in Ravenna’s School Directory and complete the application. For any technical questions about Ravenna, please contact them directly by following the instructions on the login page.

Please mail the required application processing fee of $50.00 (address checks to The Advent School) to:

Teacher Recommendation & School Report Deadline
All forms are due by Sunday, January 15, 2017. The Teacher Recommendation Form is available online through your Ravenna account. You will be prompted to input an email address for your child’s teacher. If you are not completing the online application, please contact Nora Goddard, Director of Admission and Next Schools for paper copies of the Teacher Recommendation Form.

Report cards or progress notes can be uploaded directly to Ravenna by your child’s current school or sent directly to Advent’s Office of Admission.

Step 4: Student Visits

Screening sessions for pre-Kindergarten (Early Childhood Center) and Kindergarten applicants will be scheduled upon receipt of your application. These screenings provide the opportunity for us to work one-to-one with your child to better understand him or her as a learner. Screening sessions are held in the morning and last approximately 30 minutes.

Applicant Classroom Visits
The visit day for applicants to pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten is Saturday, January 28, 2017. A specific time will be scheduled upon receipt of your application.

Upon receipt of your application, we will contact you to schedule a mutually convenient classroom visit. First and Second Grade applicants visit for half a day and Third through Sixth Grade applicants visit for the whole school day.

Optional Step 5: Complete Financial Aid Application

Advent requires the Parent Financial Statement submitted online to the School and Student Service at sss.nais.org, copies of most recent (2016) Federal Income Tax Returns, year-end pay stubs, and 1099/W2s be submitted to: The Advent School, Attention Office of Admission. Advent’s school code is 1123. Visit the Tuition & Financial Aid page for more information about tuition rates and the financial aid process.

The Financial Aid application deadline is Friday, February 10, 2017.

Admission Decisions
